Words on the Wall
Most foundations and nonprofits use multiple words in their outcome work. A human gain is called an outcome, a result, a benefit, an impact, a goal, an objective—often in the same application or proposal. My client Manatee County Florida (just north of Sarasota) chose a handful of words that they asked everyone to use with some rigor. Poster-sized copies are going to the walls of county and grantee offices to keep everyone focused not just on word choice but on the simple meanings of a just a handful of terms that are all they need. Take a look.
